A compatible cartridge is a toner or ink cartridge made by an independent (non-OEM) supplier and designed to be interchangeable with the original cartridge. Cartridges certified to ISO 9001 plus ISO 19752 (toner) or ISO 24711 (ink) deliver the same page yield as the OEM with average savings of 70%.

Does using compatible cartridges void my printer warranty?

No. Under Directive (EU) 2019/771 on the conformity of goods and the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you have the right to use third-party consumables without losing the manufacturer's legal warranty. Competition law also protects the consumer against restrictive practices.

What is the difference between toner and ink cartridges?

Toner is a heat-fusing powder used in laser printers (LaserJet, i-SENSYS, Brother HL/MFC). Ink is a liquid used in inkjet printers (DeskJet, OfficeJet, PIXMA, WorkForce). They are not interchangeable. Each technology has its strengths: inkjet offers better photo quality, while laser delivers a lower cost per page and faster output.
