BPA and alternatives in the EU

Thermal paper placed on the EU market must contain less than 0.02 percent BPA by weight under the restriction effective since January 2020. This does not mean that every roll contains no BPA or identify any alternative substance used. Ask your supplier for the specific paper’s composition or technical datasheet.

Ask the local collection service or waste contractor how to dispose of the specific paper. Do not assume that all thermal paper belongs in the same bin or that a BPA-free claim establishes recyclability.

Which language does my POS need: ESC/POS, Star or ZPL?

Check which language, driver and interface your checkout or labelling software supports against the documentation for the exact printer variant. Names such as ESC/POS, StarPRNT or ZPL do not guarantee that every application works with every printer. Test your actual document before buying multiple units.
