KW-M804: quiet, compact and affordable

The KW-M804 (60.99 €) targets a different profile: the small or medium-sized venue where noise, space and price matter. It prints at 160 mm/s, more than enough for a café or a local shop.

It's the logical choice for restaurants, cafés and retail that don't need LAN networking or top speeds, but do want a reliable, discreet and keenly priced printer.

KW-M806 or KW-M804: how to choose

The decision comes down to your volume and how you set up connectivity:

That 2D QR code on the receipt is more versatile than it looks: you can use it to ask for a Google review, launch a satisfaction survey, open your digital menu or even link to a payment. It's a cheap way to turn a simple receipt into a loyalty channel, and it works the same on the M806 as on the M804. Our practical tip: don't look only at speed, think too about how you're going to wire up the venue. If tomorrow you want a second till or to send orders to the kitchen over the network, the M806's LAN saves you rewiring; if your setup is a single fixed till, the M804 is more than up to the job.

Consumable and regulations: BPA-free thermal paper

As they use direct thermal printing, your only recurring purchase is the 80 mm thermal paper roll. Both accept standard rolls, so you're not tied to a proprietary format.

There's a legal detail here worth respecting: in the EU, thermal paper must be free of bisphenol A. Since 2 January 2020, Reglamento (UE) 2016/2235 has banned thermal paper containing BPA at a concentration of 0.02% or more by weight.
