What ink does the HP PageWide Pro 452dn need, and 4 compatible models

Actualizado 18 julio 2026

Looking for ink for your HP PageWide Pro 452 or 477? The cartridge you need is the HP 913 (or its high-capacity version, the HP 973XL). Our compatible version of the 913 yields 3,500 pages and that of the 973XL up to 10,000 pages, with the same print quality and for a fraction of the original's price. See the compatible HP 913 cartridge or see the compatible HP 973XL.

Is it compatible with your printer?

The printers in the PageWide Pro 400 series range share the same fixed-head technology and use the same ink cartridges. The letters in the model indicate its equipment: the d is duplex (automatic double-sided printing), the n means wired network connection (Ethernet), the w adds wifi and the MFP variants are all-in-one (they print, scan and copy). The equipment changes, but not the consumable. If you have any of these models, this is your ink:

  • HP PageWide Pro 452dn
  • HP PageWide Pro 452dw
  • HP PageWide Pro 477dn
  • HP PageWide Pro 477dw
  • HP PageWide Pro MFP 477

The consumable you need and what it yields

For this family you have two options depending on how much you print, both measured to the ISO/IEC 24711 standard, which standardises the page calculation for inkjet cartridges:

  • Compatible HP 913: standard capacity, with a yield of 3,500 pages. It's the ideal option if your print volume is moderate or you want a lower initial outlay.
  • Compatible HP 973XL: high capacity (XL), with up to 10,000 pages. Choose it if you print a lot: the higher the volume, the lower the cost per page and the fewer cartridge changes you'll have to make.

In short: for occasional or home use, the 913 is more than enough; for an office with intensive printing, the 973XL yields almost three times as much and saves you time and money in the long run.

How much printing costs you

The PageWide Pros are designed to print a lot and at a low cost per page, but original cartridges make that promise more expensive. Our compatibles offer the same page yield for much less: the 913 keeps its 3,500 pages and the 973XL its 10,000, with the same quality, but paying only a fraction of the original's price. We don't inflate figures: check the current price on each product page, always up to date.

Frequently asked questions

Do the compatible HP 913 and 973XL work the same as the originals in my PageWide Pro?

Yes. They're made to meet the same specifications of the PageWide Pro 452 and 477 range, they install just like the branded ones and offer the same print quality. The printer recognises them and they work normally.

How many pages does each cartridge print?

The compatible HP 913 yields 3,500 pages and the compatible HP 973XL up to 10,000 pages, both measured to the ISO/IEC 24711 standard. The real yield depends on your document type and the page coverage percentage.

Does using compatible cartridges void my printer's warranty?

No. Under article 120 of Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007 (the General Law for the Defence of Consumers and Users), using a compatible consumable does not void your printer's warranty. The manufacturer could only reject the warranty if it proved a specific cartridge caused damage, which is exceptional. In addition, all our products come with their own guarantee.

How long does shipping take?

We ship within 24-48 hours to mainland Spain, and shipping is free from €50. You'll have your ink ready to keep printing in a couple of days.
