Samsung stopped making printers, do compatible cartridges still work?

Yes. In 2017 HP acquired Samsung's printer division, so Samsung stopped making new printers. But compatible MLT-D cartridges are still being produced and work perfectly for every existing Samsung Xpress, ProXpress, CLX and M-series. We hold stock for the best-selling models.

Does compatible Samsung toner void my printer warranty?

No. Under the Directive (EU) 2019/771 on the conformity of goods and the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you have the right to use third-party consumables without losing your printer's statutory warranty. Even though Samsung stopped making printers, the models still in use remain protected by this legislation.

What is the difference between compatible Samsung MLT-D101S and MLT-D111S?

They are cartridges for DIFFERENT Samsung Xpress series. MLT-D101S (~1,500 pages) fits Xpress M2026/M2070 and SCX-3400. MLT-D111S (~1,000 pages) fits Xpress M2020/M2022 and SL-M2070W. They are NOT interchangeable, always check your exact printer model before buying.

How many pages does a compatible Samsung toner print?

Will my Samsung Xpress recognise a compatible MLT-D111L?

Yes, Startoner's compatible MLT-D111L cartridges ship with a reset chip and are detected without warnings on Xpress M2020, M2022, M2070, M2078 and related models. If an automatic firmware update causes the cartridge to stop being recognised, contact us: we have updated chip versions for the most recent firmware and will replace the cartridge if necessary.

What about support now that HP has bought the Samsung division?

HP acquired Samsung's printer division in 2017, but Xpress and ProXpress models still work perfectly and MLT-D consumables are still being produced by compatible manufacturers. At Startoner we will keep stock of the full MLT-D101S to D204L series for as long as active machines remain in Spanish print fleets.

Do MLT-D203L and MLT-D204L fit the same printer?

Not exactly. MLT-D203L is for ProXpress M3320, M3370, M3820, M3870, M4020 and M4070, while MLT-D204L is for M3325, M3375, M3825, M3875, M4025 and M4075. They look like neighbouring series, but the models ending in 5 (M3325, M3825) take D204L and the ones before take D203L. Always check the code on your current cartridge.

How many pages does a compatible MLT-D111L print?

Under ISO/IEC 19752, a compatible MLT-D111L from Startoner declares up to 1,800 pages at 5% coverage, the same as the Samsung OEM. In practice, an SMB printing 500 pages a month gets roughly three to four months out of each cartridge, depending on how much solid coverage (logos, graphics) the documents include.
