What toner and drum does the Brother HL-1110 need, and 9 compatible models

Actualizado 18 julio 2026

Looking for toner for your Brother HL-1110 or any printer in its family? The consumable you need is the Brother TN1050, and in many cases also the Brother DR1050 drum. Our compatible version of the toner yields 1,000 ISO pages with the same print quality as the original, and costs a fraction of the price. See the compatible TN1050 toner.

Is it compatible with your printer?

The TN1050 (toner) and the DR1050 (drum) are the duo fitted to all the machines in Brother's entry-level mono laser range. They are 10 models spanning simple printers (HL), all-in-ones with scanner and copy (DCP) and all-in-ones with fax (MFC). If you have any of these models, these are your consumables:

  • Brother DCP-1510
  • Brother DCP-1512
  • Brother DCP-1610W
  • Brother DCP-1612W
  • Brother HL-1110
  • Brother HL-1112
  • Brother HL-1210W
  • Brother HL-1212W
  • Brother MFC-1810
  • Brother MFC-1910W

What changes between them? The letters indicate the machine's features, not the consumable: HL are print-only printers; DCP add scanner and copier; MFC add fax. The final W (1610W, 1212W, 1910W...) indicates wifi connectivity for wireless printing. Whatever changes, the toner cartridge and the drum are the same across the whole family. If you can't find your model, use our printer finder to confirm it in a second.

The consumable you need and what it yields

These printers use a system of two separate parts, and it's worth understanding the difference so you don't overbuy:

  • Brother TN1050 toner: it's the powder cartridge that is used up with each print. Our compatible version yields 1,000 pages to the ISO/IEC 19752 standard (standard measurement for mono toner). It's the part you'll replace most often. See the TN1050 toner.
  • Brother DR1050 drum: it's the photoconductive cylinder that transfers the toner to the paper. It lasts much longer, up to 10,000 pages, that is, around 10 toner cartridges before needing replacement. Don't change it every time the toner runs out: only when the printer warns you or you notice repeated marks on the sheet. See the DR1050 drum.

In short: for day to day you buy the TN1050; the DR1050 is a one-off purchase you amortise over many toners. If you want to understand the difference in depth and when each one is due, we explain it in our guide toner vs. drum. And if it's your first time, here's the step-by-step to install a toner without complications.

How much printing costs you

The great advantage of a compatible consumable is that it offers the same page yield as the original, the same 1,000 toner pages and 10,000 drum pages, but for a fraction of the price. With the Brother original, each replacement takes up a good part of what the printer itself cost; with the compatible you lower that cost per page noticeably without giving up quality or reliability.

Multiply it by the roughly 10 toners you'll use before touching the drum and the accumulated saving is considerable. Calculate for yourself how much you save with your real print volume in our savings calculator, and always check the current price of the TN1050 on the product page.

Frequently asked questions

Does the compatible TN1050 work in any printer on the list?

Yes. The TN1050 toner and the DR1050 drum are the native consumables of the 10 models in the HL-1110 family (HL, DCP and MFC, with or without wifi). If your printer is on the list above, it's the right cartridge. If in doubt, verify it with the printer finder.

How many pages does each consumable print?

The TN1050 toner yields 1,000 pages (ISO/IEC 19752 standard) and the DR1050 drum up to 10,000 pages. These are figures measured with the industry standard, at an approximate page coverage of 5%; if your documents carry a lot of text or dense graphics, the real yield may be somewhat lower.

Does using a compatible toner void the printer's warranty?

No. Using compatible consumables does not void your printer's legal warranty. Article 120 of RLD 1/2007 (the General Law for the Defence of Consumers) protects your right, and the manufacturer cannot force you to buy only its brand. In addition, we back our products with our own guarantee.

How long does shipping take?

We ship within 24-48 hours to mainland Spain, and shipping is free from €50. That way you have your toner or drum ready to print in a couple of days.
