How to load it and what to do if it "doesn't recognise the cartridge"

In an EcoTank system you don't slot in a cartridge: you refill the tank for the corresponding colour. The basic procedure is:

• Check which colour each tank corresponds to before you start.
• Open the tank cover, remove the cap and pour in the ink without going over the maximum fill line.
• Close the cap and cover firmly, and follow the ink level reset process on the panel that the printer prompts you to do.

Because the EcoTank works with tanks rather than per-cartridge chips, the "cartridge not recognised" warning is uncommon compared with other systems. If, after refilling, the printer still shows a colour as empty, switch it off and on again to force a new reading, manually confirm the ink level reset from the maintenance menu and check that the tank is properly filled and the cap closed. These issues are usually down to the internal level count, not a fault with the ink.

An ISO 9001 compatible ink aims to deliver print densities and colours equivalent to what you'd expect in home and office documents and photos.
