How to install it and what to do if the "cartridge is not recognised"

Installation is identical to that of the original: open the front cover, remove the used cartridge, take the new one out of its packaging, shake it gently from side to side to distribute the toner, remove the sealing tape and fit it until it clicks into place. Close the cover and the printer will detect it.

If a warning appears saying "cartridge not recognised", "non-original" or "a used supply has been installed", it does not mean the toner is faulty: it is usually HP's detection system. Try these steps:

• Switch off the printer, wait 30 seconds and turn it back on so it re-reads the chip.
• Remove and reinsert the cartridge, making sure the chip is properly aligned with the contacts.
• When the panel offers to continue despite the warning, accept: these are informational messages that do not prevent printing.
