How to install it and what to do if the "cartridge is not recognised"
Close the cover and wait for the printer to complete the charging cycle.
If after fitting it a message appears such as "cannot detect cartridge" or "cartridge not recognised", it is usually not a fault with the product. Try these steps:
- Remove the cartridge and carefully clean the metal contacts of the chip with a dry, lint-free cloth.
- Reinsert it, making sure it seats fully and clicks.
- Switch the printer off, wait a minute and switch it back on to force the chip to be re-read.
- If the machine was previously using original ink, take the cartridge out and reinsert it a second time: the system will restart the chip reading.
With these steps the chip reset is resolved in practically every case, since each cartridge carries its own updated chip.
