Christmas in your own handwriting
Some gifts begin long before the package is opened: carefully writing a name, sketching a special wish, or folding a slip of paper so no one discovers who was picked. This pack brings those quiet moments together with a shared design of crowns, stars, and winter sprigs.
The background of each sheet is white, and the decorations leave ample room for writing. Choose the black-and-white version to add your own pencil colours, or keep the classic green and burgundy of the original design. There is no need to print everything or set up a full craft session: a letter, a pair of scissors, and a quiet hour together are all you need to begin.
Letter to the Three Kings to write and draw
In Spain, the Three Kings (Reyes Magos) are the traditional holiday gift-bringers celebrated on Epiphany. The letter opens with the sender's name and a happy memory from the past year. It then invites writing down something wished for and an activity to share with family or friends. At the bottom, a drawing box allows sketching a wish, followed by a signature space. There is no rigid gift list and no section requiring promises of good behaviour.
Let each child decide how to complete it. If writing is still difficult, an adult can take dictation while leaving the signature or drawing for the sender. Writing a single sentence and filling the box with a large drawing is just as wonderful. The sheet does not require filling every space.
To make the letter truly personal, try open questions: 'What made you smile this year?' or 'What special outing would you like to repeat with me?'. A walk in the park, learning a recipe, or seeing a relative can sit naturally alongside wished-for gifts. There is no need to correct every word for the result to become a treasured keepsake.
If you would like to practise before writing out the final letter, you can use our printable calligraphy worksheets. They are an independent resource: the Christmas letter is designed for free expression.
Secret Santa slips without confusion
The sheet includes 12 slips of identical size and appearance. Each has a space for a name, a cutting boundary, and a fold line. Write one name per slip and use only as many as there are participants. If names repeat, add an initial to avoid confusion.
- Agree on the rules before drawing names. Set the gift exchange date, spending budget, and whether handmade gifts are welcome. The sheet leaves these decisions entirely to your group.
- Cut and fold all slips identically. The name should remain folded inside. Mix them thoroughly in a bowl and confirm no slips are missing or extra.
- Each person draws one slip. Read it privately. If anyone draws their own name, return all slips, mix again, and restart the draw completely. This avoids leaving the last person trapped with their own name.
- Keep the results safe. Do not leave open slips on the table. You can separately note gift preferences that participants wish to share.
If the group wants to exclude couples, replicate last year's pairings, or add restrictions, do not improvise changes after names are drawn. Agree on the method beforehand. These slips are meant for a straightforward in-person draw; they do not handle automated exclusions.
For smaller groups, extra slips will remain. Save them unwritten for next time. If your group is larger, print that page again on identical paper so no slip stands out by colour or texture.
Gift tags with real writing space
The third sheet contains 8 tags with the Spanish wording “Con cariño” (“With love”) and the fields “Para” (“To”) and “De” (“From”). Cut along the outer border and write the names before attaching them to the package. Each tag has a small circle showing where to make a hole if you want to thread a ribbon through it; if you are gluing the tag, you can leave it unpunched.
For Secret Santa, leave the Spanish field “De” (“From”) blank or write “Tu amigo invisible” (“Your Secret Santa”). For a family gift, add a sentence on the back that recalls a shared memory. The design combines stars and sprigs, with no date on the tags, so you can keep any left over.
Start with whatever standard paper your printer supports. If you prefer a firmer tag, glue the printout onto light cardstock and cut both layers together. To print directly onto cardstock, consult your printer manual first to verify compatible paper weights.
How to print the pack without changing its size
Open the downloaded PDF and select A4 paper, portrait orientation and one page per sheet. Print single-sided. To preserve the size of the design, use “Actual size” or 100% scale. Adobe states that “Actual size” prints without scaling and that “Fit” adjusts the page to the printable area. If the print preview shows a clipped border, fitting may solve the problem, although it will change the final size. See Adobe explanation of print scaling [1].
Print a test copy of the sheet you intend to use first. Check that line work is sharp, borders are complete, and there is comfortable space to write. Files are digitally verified; real paper results depend on your printer, settings, and chosen media.
In the complete pack, the letter is page 1, draw slips are page 2, and tags are page 3. Select that page number in your print dialog to reprint only what you need. For printing from mobile devices, see our guide on printing from Android and iPhone.
The black version avoids relying on the colours of the design. We do not claim an ink-saving percentage or a cost per sheet: we have not measured the consumption of these files. If you want to work out your own costs, our guide explains how to estimate printing cost per page.
