What do the model letters mean? The MS machines are single-function printers (they only print), while the MX ones are multifunction (they print, copy, scan and, depending on the version, send fax). In the final initials, the n indicates network connection (Ethernet), the d automatic double-sided printing (duplex) and the e integrated Ethernet connectivity. The consumable you need and what it yields

In practice this means you'll use several toners for each drum: 60,000 divided by 5,000 is about 12 toners before you have to replace the image unit. That's why the usual spend is replacing toner, and the drum is only changed from time to time, when you notice repeated defects on the page (streaks, dots or a greyish background).
