• Open the front cover and remove the toner-drum assembly.
• Separate the toner cartridge from the drum by pulling the release lever.
• Gently shake the new toner horizontally to distribute the powder.
• Remove the safety seal and click it into place until you hear it lock.

If a message such as "cartridge not recognised" or "incompatible cartridge" appears, it almost always resolves like this: switch the printer off, wait 30 seconds and switch it back on to force the chip to be re-read. Also check that you have removed all the seals and that the cartridge is properly seated.
