Compatible Lexmark MS310 MS410 toner: installation and savings guide

What it is and which printers it fits

It is a compatible black toner (not a factory original) for Lexmark monochrome laser printers.

It is suitable for the following models:

If your machine uses a separate imaging drum, remember that the toner and the drum are different parts: check the compatible D310 drum (50F0Z00) or the compatible D317 drum (51B0Z00) when quality degrades even though the toner still has charge.

How to install it and what to do if the "cartridge is not recognised"

Browse the available products and check compatibility, declared yield and price on each product page.

• Open the front cover and remove the toner-drum assembly.
• Separate the toner cartridge from the drum by pulling the release lever.
• Gently shake the new toner horizontally to distribute the powder.
• Remove the safety seal and click it into place until you hear it lock.

If a message such as "cartridge not recognised" or "incompatible cartridge" appears, it almost always resolves like this: switch the printer off, wait 30 seconds and switch it back on to force the chip to be re-read. Also check that you have removed all the seals and that the cartridge is properly seated. These messages are usually warnings from the firmware itself, not a fault with the product; we explain it in how firmware can block cartridges.
