Compatible Lexmark E260A toner: installation, compatibility and savings

The compatible Lexmark E260A toner is a monochrome consumable designed for Lexmark E-series laser printers. It yields 3,500 pages at standard 5% coverage and is manufactured to the ISO 9001 standard, ensuring batch-to-batch consistency. What it is and which printers it fits

This cartridge is designed for specific models. It is compatible with: Lexmark E260, E260d, E260dn, E360d, E360dn, E460dn, E460dtn, E460dw and E462dtn. Before buying, check that your device appears in this list: the physical format and the chip are adapted to this family and won't fit other, more recent Lexmark series.

How to install it and what to do if it "doesn't recognise the cartridge"

Replacement is straightforward: switch off the printer, open the front cover and remove the used toner assembly. Take the new cartridge out of its packaging, gently rock it from side to side to distribute the toner, remove the seal or protective tab if it has one, and insert it until it clicks into place. Close the cover and switch the device back on.

If you see a message such as "cartridge not recognised" or an unsupported toner warning, try these steps: switch off the printer, remove and refit the cartridge making sure it makes good contact, and switch on again so the chip is read from scratch. Wipe the metal contacts with a dry cloth if they were dirty. On these devices the E260A chip manages the toner level, so the warning is usually resolved by reseating the cartridge; if it persists, contact us before discarding it.
