Installation is identical to the original: switch off the printer, open the front cover, remove the old assembly, separate the toner from the imaging drum and fit the new cartridge until you hear the click. Always remove the protective seal before inserting it.

These Lexmark printers usually accept the compatible consumable without any issues. If, after installing it, an alert such as "cartridge not recognised" or a toner-level message appears, try the following:

• Switch the printer off completely, wait a few seconds and turn it back on so that the chip is read again.
• Reinstall the cartridge, making sure it fits properly; a poorly seated contact is the most common cause of the error.
• The "non-original toner" message is only an informational notice: you can carry on printing as normal.
