How to install it and what to do if the cartridge "is not recognised"

Replacement is straightforward and requires no tools:

• Open the machine's front cover and gently pull out the spent cartridge.
• Shake the new cartridge horizontally several times to distribute the toner evenly.
• Remove the seal or sealing strip if the cartridge includes one.
• Insert the new cartridge until you hear the click and close the cover.

The imageRUNNER machines in this series do not usually block compatible consumables, but if a toner not recognised warning appears, try these steps: switch the machine off at the main switch, wait around 30 seconds and switch it back on so it re-reads the chip.
