How to install it and the chip reset if "the cartridge is not recognised"

Installation is identical to that of the original cartridge:

• Open the front door and remove the spent toner by pulling on the handle.
• Unbox the new cartridge and gently rock it from side to side to distribute the toner evenly.
• Remove the sealing tape if fitted and insert the cartridge until it clicks into place.

Each unit includes a new chip, so under normal conditions the printer detects it straight away. If a "cartridge not recognised", "not compatible" or "non-genuine HP" warning appears, try these steps:

• Switch the printer off, remove the cartridge, wipe the gold chip contacts with a dry cloth and put it back in.
• Switch it on again: on restart, the machine re-reads the chip and the counter "reset" is usually completed.
• Many warnings are purely informative: accept the message and you can carry on printing as normal.
