HP 126A CE310A compatible black toner: compatibility, installation and savings

Actualizado 18 julio 2026

The compatible HP 126A CE310A toner is the black cartridge from the 126A series, with an approximate yield of 1,200 pages according to the ISO/IEC 19752 standard and manufactured to the ISO 9001 quality standard. It is a direct replacement for the original cartridge, with the same format and integrated chip.

What it is and which printers it works with

It is designed as a replacement for the black cartridge in the 126A range. It is compatible with these models:

  • HP Color LaserJet CP1025
  • HP Color LaserJet CP1025nw
  • HP Color LaserJet Pro 100 Color MFP M175a
  • HP Color LaserJet Pro 100 Color MFP M175nw
  • HP TopShot LaserJet Pro M275 MFP

If your device does not appear in this list, do not force the installation: the cartridge format and the chip are designed specifically for these printers. You can review the full technical specifications on the compatible HP 126A CE310A toner page.

How to install it and what to do if it says "cartridge not recognised"

Installation is identical to that of the original cartridge:

  • Open the front cover and locate the black cartridge in the carousel.
  • Remove the used cartridge and take the new one out of its packaging.
  • Remove the seals and the protective tab.
  • Shake it gently from side to side to distribute the toner and insert it fully until it stops.

Each unit includes a chip, so the printer should recognise it immediately. If a message appears saying the toner is not recognised or is incompatible, try the following: switch the printer off for a few seconds and back on to force it to re-read the chip; check that the chip contact is clean and free of packaging residue; and reinstall the cartridge, making sure it fits correctly. In many cases, that message is simply an informational warning that the consumable is not an HP one and you can carry on printing without any problem. Bear in mind that HP releases firmware updates that can block non-original cartridges: it is worth reviewing your device's automatic update settings.

Yield and savings compared with the original

Manufactured to ISO 9001, this toner delivers a stable print density and a yield equivalent to that of the original under the same usage conditions, with the 1,200 pages of reference for the 126A series. The difference lies in the cost: a compatible cartridge notably reduces your cost per page without changing the quality of the finished document. Frequently asked questions
