Compatible HP 304A CC530A toner: installation, compatibility and savings guide

The HP 304A toner (reference CC530A) belongs to HP's colour range for several desktop laser printers. What it is and which printers it fits

How to fit it and what to do if it "does not recognise the cartridge"

Installation is identical to that of the original:

• Open the front cover and gently pull out the empty cartridge.
• Take the new toner out of its packaging, remove the protective seals and rock it horizontally several times to spread the toner.
• Slide it into its rail until you hear the click and close the cover.

If a cartridge not recognised or low-level warning appears, don't be alarmed: it is usually down to the chip reading. Switch the printer off, wait a few seconds and switch it back on so it restarts detection. If the message persists, remove and refit the cartridge, making sure the chip is properly seated. Many warnings are informational and let you keep printing by pressing "OK" or "Continue".
