Compatible Konica Minolta TN311 / TN211 toner: installation, reset and savings

Actualizado 18 julio 2026

The compatible Konica Minolta TN311 / TN211 toner is a high-yield monochrome cartridge designed to replace the original in bizhub multifunction machines without compromising on density or reliability. With an approximate yield of 17,500 pages (at 5% coverage, to ISO standard), it is aimed at offices with a medium-to-high volume of black-and-white documents.

What it is and which printers it fits

It is a black toner that directly replaces Konica Minolta's TN311 and TN211 references. It is compatible with the following machines:

  • Konica Minolta bizhub 350
  • Konica Minolta bizhub 250
  • Konica Minolta bizhub 222
  • Konica Minolta bizhub 282
  • Konica Minolta bizhub 362

If your machine is colour or uses other references, check alternatives such as the TN324 / TN512 colour toner, the TN227 colour toner or the TN116 / TN117 toner.

How to fit it and what to do if "the cartridge is not recognised"

Replacement is straightforward and requires no tools:

  • Open the machine's front cover and release the used cartridge by pulling the locking lever.
  • Shake the new toner horizontally several times to distribute the powder evenly.
  • Insert the cartridge until you hear it click into place and close the cover.

In this range, the toner and the imaging unit are separate parts, so there is normally no electronic chip to reset when you change only the toner. If a "toner not recognised" message appears or the level does not update, try these steps:

  • Remove and refit the cartridge, making sure it seats fully.
  • Switch the machine off at the main switch, wait a few seconds and switch it back on to force a re-read.
  • Check that you have removed any transport seal or tab.

After the restart, the system should detect the new consumable and resume printing as normal.

Yield and savings versus the original

The main advantage of a compatible is the cost per page: you get the same page capacity as a branded cartridge while paying considerably less per unit, which noticeably reduces your printing spend over the course of the year. If you want to work out what this really means for your office, we explain it in our article on the real cost of printing.

As for quality, a premium compatible delivers crisp text and dense blacks on a par with the original in office use. We prove it by comparing the two original versus compatible side by side. To check density and uniformity after fitting it, you can use our print test page.

It offers an approximate yield of 17,500 pages at 5% coverage, to ISO standard. The actual result depends on the type of documents and how much ink you use per page.

Remove and reinsert the toner, making sure it seats fully and that you have taken off the seals. Then switch the machine off and on at the main switch to force a re-read of the consumable.
