Compatible Konica Minolta TN324 TN512 toner: installation, reset and savings guide

If you manage a Konica Minolta bizhub series multifunction printer, you know that the colour consumable is one of the highest recurring costs. What it is and which printers it works with

This is a colour toner cartridge (available in cyan, magenta, yellow and black depending on the reference) that replaces Konica Minolta's TN324 and TN512 codes. Both families share the same physical format and are interchangeable in the following machines:

• Konica Minolta bizhub C308
• Konica Minolta bizhub C368
• Konica Minolta bizhub C454 and C454e
• Konica Minolta bizhub C554 and C554e

Before buying, confirm the colour you need and compare it with the label on the cartridge you are going to replace. Each colour is ordered separately.

How to install it and what to do if it "doesn't recognise the cartridge"

Installation is identical to the original: open the front door, turn the locking lever for the relevant colour, remove the empty cartridge and insert the new one until it clicks into place. Gently shake the cartridge horizontally before fitting it to distribute the toner.

Each unit incorporates a new chip, so the printer usually recognises it instantly and resets the level to 100%. If a "toner not recognised" or "non-original" warning appears:

• Remove the cartridge and reinsert it, making sure it is seated fully.
• Switch the machine off at the power switch, wait a minute and switch it back on so it re-reads the chip.
• Wipe the chip's gold contacts with a dry cloth if there is any residue.
