What it is and which printers it works with

This is a cartridge from the 903XL series, the higher-capacity version compared with the standard 903. It is compatible with the following HP models:

• HP OfficeJet Pro 6975
• HP OfficeJet Pro 6976

Before buying, check the reference printed on your printer's empty cartridge: if it's a 903 or 903XL, this consumable fits without any adapters.

How to install it and what to do if the "cartridge is not recognised"

Browse the available products and check compatibility, declared yield and price on each product page.

• Switch on the printer and open the cartridge access door, waiting for the carriage to stop in the centre.
• Remove the used cartridge and take the new one out of its packaging, peeling off the protective plastic strip without touching the gold contacts or the nozzle.
• Insert the cartridge into its colour-coded slot until you hear a click, then close the door.

If the "cartridge not recognised", "used" or "cartridge problem" message appears, it can usually be resolved with these steps:

• Remove the cartridge, carefully clean the gold contacts with a dry, lint-free cloth and put it back in.
• If it persists, remove all the cartridges, switch off the printer, unplug it from the mains for 60 seconds and switch it back on: this forces a chip reset and a carriage reset.
• Ignore the "non-original ink" warnings: these are informational notices and you can carry on printing as normal.
