How to install it and what to do if it "doesn't recognise" the ink

Installation is simple because the EcoTank system fills reservoirs, it doesn't slot in chips:

• Open the reservoir cover and locate the colour you want to refill.
• Shake the bottle, remove the seal and fit it into the reservoir's mouth: the ink flows on its own and stops once it reaches the maximum.
• Don't mix colours and don't go past the fill line.

As it's a refill system, there's no chip to "recognise" nor blocks like those imposed by other manufacturers. If the printer warns of a low level after refilling, that's normal: EcoTank estimates the level via software. Go into the maintenance menu and use the reset ink levels option so the counter starts again from full. If a colour prints with streaks after refilling, run a print-head cleaning from the panel and check the result with a CMYK test page.
