The Epson 104 is an ink bottle reference for certain EcoTank models, not a cartridge. Identify the ink series indicated by your printer before refilling: references 102, 103, 104 and 106 should not be treated as interchangeable due to numerical proximity. Also check each colour.

The 104 isn't a conventional cartridge, but the reference for the EcoTank ink bottles that are emptied into the printer's reservoir.

Epson lists these models as compatible with one or more products in its genuine 104 range; check the ink reference for your exact model and colour in its manual before choosing a compatible bottle. (Epson España 104).

Refilling by the manual and checking warnings

To refill, follow your model’s manual and check that the bottle fits without forcing it:

  • Open the reservoir cover and locate the colour you want to refill.
  • Match the tank colour to the bottle, open both caps and position the nozzle carefully. Do not assume a compatible bottle has the same keyed fitting as Epson’s genuine bottle.
  • Don't mix colours and don't go past the fill line.

A low-ink warning after refilling does not prove a chip block. For the ET-2720, Epson says to check the tank visually and, after filling to the upper line, use Maintenance > Reset Ink Level. Genuine yield and cost without assumed equivalence

Epson publishes yields for its genuine 104 range; those figures do not establish the yield, density or print-head behaviour of this compatible bottle. Compare volume, the current product listing and actual output. Do not transfer the original manufacturer’s test results to a third-party ink.

Frequently asked questions

Is the compatible 104 ink suitable for my Epson EcoTank ET-2720?

The Startoner bottle has not been verified to fit or work in the ET-2720 or other models. Epson lists genuine 104 ink for the European ET-2720, but that does not establish third-party bottle compatibility. Before ordering, ask Startoner to confirm your exact printer model, colour and bottle nozzle.

What do I do if the printer warns of a low level after refilling?

Check the actual tank level and follow your model’s instructions; never reset an empty tank. On the ET-2720, Epson says to fill to the upper line, then select Maintenance > Reset Ink Level and follow the display. A persistent warning alone does not prove a chip block or confirm bottle detection.

Does using compatible ink void my Epson warranty?

Using compatible ink does not automatically cancel all printer coverage. The ET-2720 manual nevertheless warns that Epson does not cover damage caused by third-party ink. Separate the printer warranty from your rights concerning the ink you purchased. Keep the receipt, record the fault and check the terms applicable to your purchase.

How do I check the ink prints all colours properly?

Run the nozzle check described in your EcoTank manual first and look for missing lines or colours. If the pattern shows clogged nozzles, follow Epson’s head-cleaning instructions; unnecessary cleaning consumes ink. Check the visible tank levels too. Repeating cleaning indefinitely is not a guarantee that every print defect will disappear.
