How to install it and what to do if it says "cartridge not recognised"

Installation is identical to the original: open the front cover, remove the used cartridge, take the new one out of its packaging, remove the transport seal and shake it gently from side to side to distribute the toner. Insert it until it clicks into place and close the cover.

If, after changing it, a cartridge not recognised or not compatible message appears, in most cases there is no fault: it is the chip. Try these steps:

• Turn the printer off, wait about 30 seconds and switch it back on so it re-reads the chip.
• Remove and reinsert the cartridge, making sure the metal contacts are clean and properly seated.
• If the device asks you to confirm the use of a non-HP consumable, accept it from the panel to carry on printing.
