How to install it and what to do if it says "cartridge not recognised"

• Turn on the printer and open the cover so the carriage moves to the centre.
• Press the tab on the used cartridge and remove it.
• Take the seal and the protective strip off the new cartridge, without touching the contacts or the ink outlet.
• Insert it into its colour-coded slot until you hear a click and close the cover.

When using a compatible cartridge, it is common for the "cartridge not recognised" or "non-original ink" warning to appear. This does not indicate a fault with the cartridge: it is the chip detection. To resolve it, press and hold the Stop button (the one with the triangle inside a circle) for about 5-10 seconds until the message disappears and the printer continues. This step disables the warning and lets you carry on printing as normal, including the approximate ink-level monitoring.
