How to fit it and what to do if the "cartridge is not recognised"

Replacement is straightforward: switch off the machine, open the front cover, remove the used drum unit by pulling firmly on the tab and slide the new one in until it stops. Do not touch the green surface of the cylinder and protect it from direct light while handling it.

These imageRUNNER machines run the drum and toner separately, so if the copy still shows defects after the change, also check the condition of the toner cartridge. If the panel shows a persistent alert, try this order:

• Switch the machine off and on so the system re-reads the consumable.
• Check that the unit is fully seated and the cover is properly closed.
• Make sure no transport tape or seal has been left on the drum.
